WELCOME TO THE HOME OF THE PREMIER CREATIVE CONCRETE CONTRACTOR FOR KENNEWICK, RICHLAND, AND PASCO
Let’s be real for a minute. When you look at your backyard right now, what do you see?
Do you see a patch of dirt that turns into a mud pit every time it rains? Do you see an old, gray slab that has more cracks than a broken windshield? Or maybe you see a wooden deck that looks a little "fuzzy" because the sun and rain have beaten it up for ten years.
If you are nodding your head, we need to talk.
Living here in the Tri-Cities means we get great summers. We have those long, warm evenings that are perfect for grilling burgers or just sitting outside with a cold drink. But you can't really enjoy that if you don't have a good place to sit. You don't want to put your lawn chair in the dirt. You want a solid, flat, beautiful surface.
That is where
Kennewick Concrete King comes in. We build the kind of
concrete patio Kennewick homeowners dream about. We take that boring patch of grass or dirt and turn it into your favorite room in the house—it just happens to be outside.

Why Choose Concrete?
You have options when it comes to patios. You could do wood. You could do pavers (those individual bricks). You could do gravel. But here is why concrete is the heavyweight champ of backyard patios.
Wood Rots. Concrete Rocks.
Wood decks look nice for about two years. Then the Kennewick sun bakes them. The winter rain soaks them. Splinters start popping up. You have to stain them and seal them every single summer or they turn gray and ugly. Plus, bugs love to eat wood. You know what bugs don't eat? Concrete. Concrete doesn't rot, warp, or give you splinters.
Pavers are a Weed Farm
Pavers look fancy, but they have a fatal flaw: the gaps. No matter how much sand you put between them, weeds will find a way. Ants will build little hills in the cracks. Over time, the ground settles, and your flat patio turns into a bumpy tripping hazard. A poured concrete patio is one solid piece. No gaps, no weeds, no ants.
It Saves You Money
Believe it or not, pouring a concrete slab is usually cheaper than building a wood deck or laying down thousands of pavers by hand. And because you don't have to fix it or stain it every year, it keeps saving you money for decades.
Our Concrete Patio Services
We aren't a "one trick pony." We know that every house in Kennewick, Pasco, and Richland is different. You might want a simple spot for a hot tub, or you might want a fancy entertaining space that looks like a magazine cover. We do it all.
The Classic Broom Finish
This is the most common type of patio we install. It is clean, simple, and affordable. We pour the concrete and use a special broom to drag a light texture across the top. This gives it a non-slip surface, so you don't slide around when it gets wet from the sprinklers or rain. It looks neat and tidy, and it fits with any style of home.
Stamped Concrete
This is where we get to show off a little. Stamped concrete is when we take wet concrete and press big rubber stamps into it. These stamps have patterns on them.
We can make your concrete look exactly like:
- Expensive slate stone
- Weathered wood planks
- Red brick
- Cobblestone
- River rock
We also add colors to the mix. So, instead of boring gray, your patio can be a warm tan, a deep red, or a charcoal color. Your neighbors will think you spent a fortune on individual stones, but you’ll know you got the durability of concrete for a much better price.
Colored and Stained Concrete
Maybe you don't want a pattern, but you don't want plain gray either. We can mix color right into the truck before we pour, or we can use acid stains after it dries to give it a cool, marbled look. It’s a great way to add some personality to your yard without going full "stamped."
How We Build Your Patio (Doing It Right)
There are some guys out there who will just dump concrete on the ground and smooth it out. That is a recipe for disaster. In a year, that patio will crack and sink.
At Kennewick Concrete King, we follow a strict recipe for success. Here is how we do it:
Step 1: The Dig We don't just pour over grass. We dig out the area to remove the organic soil (the soft stuff that moves around). We need to get down to the solid earth.
Step 2: The Foundation This is the most important part. We bring in a layer of crushed gravel. We spread it out and use a heavy machine called a compactor to smash it down tight. This gives the concrete a solid bed to sleep on so it doesn't sink.
Step 3: The Muscle Concrete is hard, but it can break if you try to bend it. To stop this, we install rebar (steel rods) or wire mesh inside the wet concrete. This acts like a skeleton. It holds everything together even if the ground shifts a tiny bit.
Step 4: The Pour and Finish We pour the mix and smooth it out. This is where our skills really shine. We make sure it is perfectly level, but with a tiny slope away from your house so water doesn't pool against your foundation. Then we apply the finish (broom or stamp) and let it cure.
Step 5: The Cuts You might have noticed lines cut into sidewalks. Those are called "control joints." Concrete shrinks a tiny bit when it dries. These cuts tell the concrete, "If you are going to crack, crack right here in this straight line where nobody can see it." It keeps the surface looking perfect.
Serving the Whole Tri-Cities Area
We might have Kennewick in our name, but we are all over the place. We love working in this community. We know the soil here (it can be sandy or rocky), and we know the weather.
If you live in Pasco, we can handle your patio. If you are over in Richland, we are there too. West Richland? Benton City? Burbank? If you are within about 45 minutes of Kennewick, we are your local concrete patio contractor.
Depending on the specific job we can also bring our skills and experience to Spokane WA.
We understand the local codes and rules. We know how to deal with the wind while we are finishing the concrete (if you know, you know—wind dries concrete too fast if you aren't careful!). We are neighbors helping neighbors.
Ideas for Your New Patio
Stuck on what you want? Here are a few ways our customers use their new concrete spaces:
The BBQ Zone Build a space specifically for your grill or smoker. No more wobbling wheels on the grass. We can even pour a little extra space for a table and chairs so you can eat those burgers while they are hot.
The Hot Tub Pad Hot tubs are heavy. Like, really heavy. You can't just put them on the dirt. You need a thick, reinforced concrete slab to hold that weight. We build pads that are level and strong enough to support your spa for years.
The Fire Pit Area Imagine a round stamped concrete patio with a fire pit in the middle. Put some Adirondack chairs around it, grab some marshmallows, and you have the perfect autumn hangout spot.
The Pool Deck If you have a pool, you need a safe, non-slip area around it. Stamped concrete is perfect here because it isn't slippery like tile, and it doesn't get as hot as dark pavers.
Why Hire Kennewick Concrete King?
Look, we know there are other people with trucks and shovels. But we believe we offer something better.
- We Show Up: It sounds simple, but in the construction world, it’s rare. If we say we will be there Tuesday at 8 AM, we will be there.
- We Are Clean: We don't leave empty water bottles and trash in your yard. We respect your property.
- We Are Honest: We give you a clear price upfront. We don't hit you with "surprise fees" halfway through the job.
- We Are Skilled: We have been doing this a long time. We know how to handle tricky slopes, weird corners, and drainage issues.
How much does a concrete patio cost in Kennewick?
This is the question everyone asks! It depends on a few things: how big the patio is, if you want a plain finish or a stamped design, and how easy it is to get our equipment into your backyard. A simple broom-finish slab is the most budget-friendly option. Stamped concrete costs a bit more because it takes more time and materials. We offer free estimates, so we can come out, measure it, and give you an exact number based on your specific needs. Give us a call!
Will my new concrete patio crack?
Here is the honest truth: Concrete loves two things—getting hard and cracking. However, we do everything possible to control it. We use a strong gravel base, we use steel reinforcement (rebar), and we cut "control joints" into the slab. These cuts guide any cracking to happen at the bottom of the groove where you can't see it. While hairline cracks can happen due to ground movement, our process minimizes them significantly.
How long do I have to wait before I can walk on it?
Concrete dries pretty fast, but it takes time to get strong. You can usually walk on your new patio carefully after about 24 to 48 hours. If you want to put heavy patio furniture, a hot tub, or a BBQ grill on it, you should wait at least 7 days. It takes about 28 days to fully "cure" and reach its maximum hardness.
Can you pour concrete over my old patio?
Sometimes, but usually it’s not a good idea. If your old patio is cracked and sinking, pouring new concrete on top is like putting a band-aid on a broken leg. The new concrete will just crack right where the old cracks are. In most cases, it is better to rip out the old stuff and start fresh with a good foundation. If the old concrete is solid but just ugly, we might be able to do a thin "overlay," but we would need to inspect it first
Is stamped concrete slippery?
It can be, especially when it is wet. Because we seal stamped concrete to protect the color, it can get a little slick like a kitchen floor. But don't worry! We can mix a special "non-slip" grit additive into the sealer. It adds a little texture (kind of like fine sand) that gives your shoes some grip without changing how the patio looks. If you plan to put the patio near a pool, definitely ask us about this!
Do you work in the winter?
We can, but it’s tricky. Concrete contains water, and if that water freezes before it dries, the concrete is ruined. In the Tri-Cities, our winters can get pretty cold. We usually do most of our work from spring through late fall. If we do pour in the winter, we have to use special blankets to keep the ground warm. It’s usually best to schedule your project for when the temperatures are consistently above freezing, but if you are in a rush, give us a call and we can direct you on how to accomplish your goals any time of year
