Stamped Concrete Tri-Cities

Faux is fantastic! Concrete Stamping is a great way to express your creativity or taste because it is our technique to give depth and texture to a concrete product from surf sand on your pool deck to hand-cut stone on your garden wall. In fact, because our stamped concrete forms and contractors are so skilled, many customers can not tell the difference between our concrete products and the real thing.
If you want the look of a specific product, but not the cost of installation and maintenance consider a concrete brick driveway, tile, or a concrete cobblestone walkway and you’ll fall in love with the finished product. We are also skilled in concrete slate, faux river rock, or concrete flagstone. Another great product that gets requested is faux wood stamped concrete. Everyone loves the look and charm of an expensive wood deck but not the cost to keep it looking new as well as the shorter lifespan. Fortunately, our wood stamping technique gives you realistic grain and texture, and our concrete stains can replicate nearly any wood finish for a long-lasting and low maintenance “wood” deck. Looking for an unusual pattern or perhaps your company logo? We’ll stamp anything from a giant compass to seashells.

Concrete Acid Etching

We use Acid Etching to prepare your concrete for a sealant, finish, or color. It doesn’t matter if you have old stained concrete, or a brand new concrete slab, this technique of surface preparation opens the concrete to bond with your finish of choice for a long-lasting look and quality.

Concrete Coloring

Colored Concrete brings life to your project and dimension to any stamping or textures. Each type of concrete color has specific applications and advantages. Here’s a few that we offer.
Acid Stain is not a paint or a color coating, it is actually a chemical reaction between acid, some inorganic salts, and minerals that are present in the surface of the concrete. This reaction results in various shades of earth tones depending on the techniques used, and these tones can range from warm yellows to coppery greens and blues with lots of natural patina. Because it is a reaction, the color is mottled and resembles the patterns in natural marble. Many clients prefer it for it’s organic and natural appearance. Depending on the location, we recommend waxing or sealing to protect the life of the color. This is a great choice for old or new concrete.
Integral concrete color is a great choice for a clean, modern look. One of the advantages here is that the coloring agent is added directly to the concrete so it is well suited for vertical and horizontal applications like a pool or landscape curbing. Color options for integral concrete colors tend to be faded or muted in appearance.
Dry-Shake color hardener is a topical powder product that is applied to the surface of wet concrete. It can be done before or after any stamping or texturizing for various effects. The colors for dry-shake tend to be bolder and more concentrated. A great advantage of this product is that it finishes your concrete with a hard and protected surface because the ingredients in the powered color also serve to densify the concrete. This is a great option for a driveway that gets treated with de-icer every winter.
Concrete dyes offer the brightest and boldest colors with the widest range of colors. They are either solvent or water-based and are applied to the surface of the concrete in any design, pattern, or shape that you desire. This product has low UV resistance so carefully choose your location to avoid too much direct sun. An advantage to this product, other than the vibrance and color options, is that the colors tend to be uniform and offer predictable results. This is a great choice for walkways, driveways, patios, or anywhere else you desire eye-catching color.

Polished Concrete Tri-Cities WA

Polished concrete combines high shine with high function. While originally invented for commercial use because of it’s unique durability and appeal, the demands from residential consumers have advanced the tools and techniques of the industry enough that we are able to offer this incredible product to both commercial and residential customers. There are two steps that go into the difference between polished concrete and other concrete products. First, we add a chemical densifier to the concrete mix that results in a significantly harder product. Next, the surface is sanded smooth with diamond grit until it is as smooth as glass. This results in a surface that is highly resistant to stains and other wear and tear with very little maintenance required. While originally found in restaurants and malls, this product can now be found in a modern home or garage flooring near you. If your project is small or does not require a product of this scope, we have other excellent options for a smooth and shiny surface including spray concrete sealers and waxes.

Concrete Resurfacing

Resurfacing overlays may otherwise known as concrete micro-topping or stamped concrete overlay. This technique gives a face-lift your your existing concrete and allows you to clean and repair existing concrete surfaces. After preparing the original surface, a micro-thin layer of concrete is spread on top to refresh and smooth the appearance in preparation for a color application or sealant. This can be a great option for when you're concrete is in good shape but you want to change it up a little bit or get a new look with stamped concrete patterns.

Concrete Sealing

Sealing and waterproofing concrete is an important step in the maintenance of your concrete creations. While concrete is a very durable material, it will start to show it's age with cracks, dimpling, or just wear of the top layer. Regular maintenance and sealing for weather and other types of wear and tear is very important since concrete is porous and will absorb moisture or stains such as oil from a car.
f your temperatures dip below freezing in the winter, these temperature chances can damage the integrity of unsealed concrete. Fortunately, regular maintenance by our concrete contractors can help you select the right sealing product and apply it with professional results whether it is an interior wax or a spray waterproofing sealer.

Tri-Cities Concrete FAQ

We've been at this concrete business for a long time. And there are a few questions that we see quite often so let's address those here with a quick concrete FAQ

Is it concrete or cement?

It's a common misconception that the terms concrete and cement describe the same thing. Actually, cement is a component of concrete. Concrete consists of a paste made from water and Portland Cement that binds together an aggregate, usually sand, gravel, and crushed stone. Don't worry, we won't be bothered if you call our concrete cement, and we'll try not to correct you...

How long do I need to stay off my concrete?

While every concrete pour is unique and will have different factors that affect this time frame, here's some general info. Concrete will set in about 2-3 hours, is safe to walk on after 24-48 hours, can be driven off after 7 days, and reaches optimum strength around 28 days. The timeline can be affected by temperature, concrete mix, thickness of pour, as well as other factors. Ask your concrete contractor after the pour for a more specific time frame.

How about color? Is all concrete just gray?

So glad you asked. Check out our decorative concrete page for more info. But concrete can be colored. In fact there has never been more options for coloring concrete, either during or after the pour. Colors can be mixed in before the concrete is poured, or painted on with a method called acid staining. You can even color old concrete if it's in good shape.

Does concrete need any special maintenance?

Like anything, if you want concrete to last, giving it some TLC along the way will pay dividends in enjoyment and long life. Regular cleaning and resealing will preserve the finish. Avoiding harsh acid cleaning chemicals and deicer is a good idea as these can cause spalling of the surface. Of course be sure to ask your concrete contractor for the recommended weight limit for your concrete.
