Decorative Concrete Design

One of the reasons that we love working with concrete here in the Tri Cities area, is that there is a huge range of creative expression. Chances are, if you can imagine it, we can create it. Take a look at some of our services here but feel free to ask about any other ideas you may have.

Stamped Concrete is a technique that allows us to give texture and dimension to any concrete surface whether it’s a walkway or concrete wall. Our concrete forms are professional grade and have realistic texture. Many customers come looking for concrete products because they want the appearance of a much more expensive product without the price or upkeep. If you’re looking for a faux texture recreation of another product such as natural stone without the enormous investment in time and money, our techniques leave results that could fool a stone mason. Our professional stamping techniques can also give you brick concrete driveway,  cobblestone concrete walkway or tile, as well as natural stone such as slate, river rock curbing creations or flagstone. Another popular choice is stamped wood. Who doesn’t want a beautiful wood deck? Most people love the look of wood, but not the upkeep or lifespan. With your Tri Cities professionals on hand, you can get the look of an expensive wood deck with the maintenance and longevity of stamped and stained concrete. Of course, anything is possible with stamped concrete designs. If you want another unique design like a compass or company branding or any other pattern stamped into the concrete, we are happy to oblige.
Acid etching is a surface preparation technique that opens the surface of concrete to accept colors or sealants. It can help transform aged and stained concrete to to accept another surface treatment as well as new concrete that might be too smooth.
Colored Concrete adds a whole new dimension to your project. There are multiple ways to add color. We can use concrete additives to add integral color to your concrete.
With integral concrete color, all the concrete has a clean and uniform color. This is a great choice for pools and pool decks, concrete landscape curbing, concrete patios, and anywhere else you desire a finished, modern appearance. Many customers choose this product because it is also not limited to horizontal applications as much as other coloring choices.
A similar product is Dry-Shake Color Hardener. As it’s name suggests, this product is a dry powder that is spread over the surface of wet concrete. Because the color is concentrated on the top of the concrete, unlike integral color, it tends to be bolder and offer a wider range of colors. Another benefit to using color hardener is that the surface of the concrete is more durable and long-lasting because of densifying agents and portland cement in the powder. This helps with water resistance and erosion from de-icing products and is a popular choice in concrete driveways.
Another great method is to use an acid stain. Because acid stain colors are not a paint or coating, but rather a chemical reaction that occurs on the surface of a cementitious material, the resulting look is rich with character and patina. Acid stain is achieved through the combination of acid, inorganic salts, and the minerals present in concrete. Your color options will usually be within the range of earth tones with some reddish browns, yellows, and greens. It also can be used on new or old concrete which is a great way to refresh a tired back patio. When you choose an acid technique, the look is never uniform but rather variegated, mottled, and marbled in appearance. We recommend waxing or sealing with a colored concrete sealer so that your finished project is protected, plus it gives added dimension to the colors.
Of course, those aren’t the only ways to add color. Last but not least, we have concrete dyes.  They can be either water or solvent-based. Concrete dye colors are the most vibrant with the most options. Bold red? We can do that. Bright yellow and vibrant turquoise? All possible. While color options are much broader, they are not as UV resistant as an acid stain color, so use caution when choosing a sunny location. Because there is no chemical reaction taking place but simply fine particles of color penetrating the concrete, this color tends to be more uniform and predictable.
When you combine any color technique with the texture of stamping, you get the depth and character that truly transform your project, however, don’t discount the beauty of polished concrete with an acid stain. The options are endless!

Polished Concrete is an incredible product for both home and commercial use. While the applications for this product were created with the commercial project in mind, like fire station flooring, the incredible benefits have brought it into the residential market as well. Polished concrete offers many advantages over traditional flooring and concrete choices, because it provides a classic shine with little to no upkeep or maintenance. This incredible product is created in two parts. First, a chemical densifier is added to the concrete mix before pouring. Then the surface is polished with progressively finer grit until the surface is literally polished smooth with a diamond pad. As the technology in our industry has advanced, so have the products. Because of the high level of skill and specialty tools required to produce a polished concrete product, this product was unavailable for small projects until demand created the advancement in equipment and techniques so that we are able to offer it to everyone from our large commercial projects like a restaurant to your own home or garage floor. Of course, we also have other options to produce a polished appearance if the scope of your project does not require polished concrete. We can finish your concrete with wax or sealants to give you that high shine.

Resurfacing overlays or concrete micro-topping is an exciting way to bring nearly any of the above options to your existing concrete. This is a great option if you have damaged or stained concrete that you would rather not completely remove and replace. Instead, you can use a concrete coating like a stamped overlay that looks better than new.

Waterproofing and sealing concrete are simple ways to add beauty and longevity to your project. Because concrete is a porous material, we recommend that you perform regular maintenance to keep it looking it best and lasting. Our team of professionals can perform any pressure washing, concrete spray coating, concrete sealer, or any other weather treatment that your concrete needs. We can apply acrylic sealers, waxes, and spray coats to anything from your stamped driveway to your raised concrete slab.

Do you have damaged concrete but don’t want to fully replace or coat it? We provide top-notch
concrete crack repair. It doesn’t matter the texture, color, or age of the original concrete, we strive to provide an invisible repair solution. We all know that concrete depends on the original surface for stability. If the ground shifts under your concrete sidewalk or a tree root grows in size, this can affect your concrete slab. Fortunately, our concrete contractors specialize in all forms of concrete repair so don’t hesitate to ask us for a solution to your eyesore.
