Tri Cities, Wa Concrete Services

What's so great about working with concrete in the Tri Cities area of Washington State? Two things, the people and the climate. If you're a local here, then you already know that our area is known for sun, sun, sun. That's right. The Tri Cities gets over 300 days of sunshine a year. Combine that with our relatively mild winters, and you'll find us busy working for you nearly every day of the year.

Because concrete is a composite product, consisting of an aggregate like gravel or sand, and a fluid cement that hardens with time, it's reaction must be carefully controlled as it cures or hardens. Since each project involves different additives, thicknesses, or amount of concrete to cure, the curing times will vary widely and should be discussed with your contractor at the time of service. Sometimes people expect that they can have a new patio poured and be throwing a birthday BBQ on it the next day, but that just isn't the case! Here's a couple things you can expect about your new concrete project.
  • First, we will make you aware of the dry times and mark off areas to avoid walking on or near. However, you need to make sure you communicate these to children or pets. Usually the concrete will dry too fast for foot prints but you wouldn't be the first one with a gorgeous new patio covered in Fifi's paw prints.
  • Secondly, please follow our instructions for wet curing if the situation requires it.  You may need to turn on a sprinkler to wet down the surface.
  • Third, please do not rush the dry-times on your new concrete product. Our decorative concrete products are meant to last a lifetime and premature use can irreparably damage the surface or integrity of the concrete.
  • Fourth, your drying timeline for use could be anywhere between 24 hours and a month, and this will depend on what you will be using it for. Most concrete surfaces can be carefully walked on after 24 hours, but you won't want to drive your car onto the new concrete slab  for up to a month! Again, please ask us any questions regarding time frames and we will make sure you have enough information to properly care for your decorative concrete creation for years to come.
